A Little about Ms. Lynch...
I was born and raised in the Las Vegas Valley. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from UNLV, educational credential from National University in California, and a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre from UNLV. I’ve also enjoyed numerous careers including lifeguard, dancer, casino management, and a professional driver. Most recently I have taught at Long ES for four years – (two years at 3rd, one year as 2nd, and one year as Kindergarten), was a Theatre Specialist at Watson for one year, taught as a 2nd grade reading specialist at Twin Lakes ES, taught Theatre at UNLV for three years, and taught as a substitute for five years while getting my teaching credential.
I love to read, write, camp out and cook. Much of my time out of school, when I’m not preparing to teach, is spent with myfamily and friends. I am the last of nine children, so am blessed to have family all over the country (my brother in Hawaii is my favorite to visit). I am first generation Irish/American; my mother and first three siblings were born in Dublin, Ireland. I have one daughter, and eight nephews and nieces (yes we all had only one child).
Keeping Informed -
These are some of the ways that you can know how your child is doing in third grade and what is happening at school:
Homework Journal – yellow folder books that they have read at home to be signed by you every night.
Homework Page – given to your child on Monday and to be turned in with your signature on Friday.
Long Website - includes what is happening in the third grade and school wide.
Clear Book Bag – at least two books to read at home each night and take AR quizzes the following morning. It comes home every night and is due back the following morning.
Weekly Parent Letter – sent home with your child on Friday.
Graded Papers – come home with the student as completed (remember they can “fix” any paper or test for half of the remaining points).
Contact – at the beginning of the year you received my card with my phone number and email address; please feel free to call, email, make an appointment, or talk to me at dismissal if you have any questions.
